Meditation II

My eyes started bleeding when I saw how bright the sun can burn
I laid back over the hill, stretched until I hurt.
I arched up towards the sky, my chest swollen by unspeakable pain.
My heart is tired.
Love. It feeds me but it is gone.
Oh, god!
I can’t see anything. I can’t move.
It is all in my head, isn’t? But why do I still want to die?
I wish the earth swallows me whole
I wish I feel nothing.
I wish I am gone.

Meditation I

I am 300 feet above the ground.
The exhilarating and yet familiar feeling that you are above everything else that man created.
The clouds chug slowly, dragged by the wind that is working its way
to that beautiful place where no clouds have to move anymore.
That place. It must be beautiful, mustn't it?

A step closer to the edge and I'll be off balance,
tumbling over this ambitious edifice that attempted to scrape the sky.
Hah! Only if they knew. No one and nothing can’t.
The sky is where height ends...of dreams, of tears, of love.
A step closer and it'll all be gone, plus several seconds of freedom to a place that never existed.
A void paradise where everything else works but my will to live.
I'll succumb, be overcome by so much force that I'll give up and die.
Death. That word.
It must be there.

Cold Comfort

Do you remember when I told you
Of what heaven would be like for me?
There'll be a storm, it would rain heavy and hard
I'll be walking, forcing my way to Manila bay.
Do you remember?

The water will be calling me
Like a mother calling her child
And I'll respond.
I'll be needy of her embrace.
I'll be walking, nearer to the turbulent water
Walloping and battering the concrete embankment
With its angry, white, and chaotic calling...
I'll respond with a step closer.

People will be noticing, they'll charge to help me
Sure I'll struggle, sure I'll do.
But minutes of pain will be sure worth it.

Do you remember when I told you
How I'll be happy to depart surrounded by water?
How I imagine myself to be scattered
Or to be found dead and buried under the earth instead?
I'll be consumed by it, that'll be heaven.
Do you remember?

Universe will be glad, to have a piece of me.
And upon the end of this world, I'll be scattered more,
Up to the stars, and span of light years
My atoms, sure used to be part of my heart and lips
Will find the comfort of this heaven.
Do you remember?

The kiss? The love?

The rain is pouring hard.
The wind is lifting me...

Fear

He said,
"I don't want to stay here
Above the ground of stillness
That pursue eternalization
So I am thourougly uphigh, searching
Through the dimness of the sun.

He said,
"I know can make it
Through the makers of emotion
On that forsaken island
Behind the shadows in doom,
Floating uphigh the sky in red
As the forgotten sifts down its roof."

He saw
Across the cemented edifice
With the blinding distant unfamiliarity
Where gods evolve
Where stars collapse
Where my own logic and curiosity's viability
Drown and vanish around its own blood.

Midnight Blues

The night shines with marry lights
Though stars and the moon are out of sight
For we are busy dancing with the show
Laser lights;
Oh, laser plays
Brushes every time over our eyes
People dance and build a crowd
Cold as the night and the moon that hides

I’m dancing, too, as well as they
‘til the music turns soft and fray
Flowering with love and burning desires
To lend a hand with their ladies’ hands.

Lights went dim, sound fell low
The ball is cleared off chairs
Glitters start to sing and shine
With the swings, whispers, and embarrassed laughs
Wafting, entangling with the air.

I’m about to dance with her
When the intruder makes his way
Can he stop and give us time?
So my eyes could see her shine?

The music is growing ominous
Love songs are counting off
Last 10 minutes, the DJ said,
When she danced with him… again.

But I’m about to dance with her…
What should I do?
Until the music turned off
And the last song faded away
So fast I can’t keep up,
Can’t keep up…

I’m very frustrated
How could the party ends so cruel?
Now, I can’t stop crying,

Pool of Black

Elie was with her boyfriend
Near the place of Grandpa’s house;
Minutes after they made love
She was feeling so awkward.

Why the moon was so red?
She noticed it was too low;
To see it kissed the horizon
Of nothing but silhouettes,
And blades of grass that were tall.

Song of Elizabeth

The lonely crowd were singing, "It's raining gold and silver!"
Stretching their hands above;
Waiting and anticipating their treasures to fall upon.

While gone down, angels' gust revived their rivers,
Where riparian flowers said "We used to sob."
And now, the angels returned up above,
Leaving their petals from obsolete red to love.

When the night came to dawn,
Sky switched on their little bulbs
And summoned cicadas down to sing
Amidst the millions of birds lived to see
What a song could do to make the world
Heal the wound it used to be.

Afternoon

The rays of the setting sun relieved
the coldness of the coming night,
and the breeze that came right from
the windows of the room smelled as though
it carried the joy of the whole world
it passes by.

“It’s been a beautiful day,” I whispered
as I looked through the windows.
The warm creature beside me stared
through the dullness in my eyes and said,
“I know.”

August

It is quintessentially passing through
The eternal system of the universe
A nonchalant string of light that undulates its way
Around the vastness of alpha and the omega;
A glory that isn’t even vital for their existence
And violent and gentle movement,
But somehow needed for the longevity
And resistance from evil destruction.

Moving in reverend silence with
A massive truce of untenability
It seeps through everything and wrapped around in every law of nature
And on its very presence,
A one-of-a-kind species is so blessed to sense it moving,
But some would be willing to turn their back on,
And some would be willing to wait…forever.

Spring of Faith

If the world starts over and calendars stops flipping
I wonder if I would again see you
Would we know each other in a glance?
Or there’s nothing to be remembered?

If the sun shines backward, and tomorrows are yesterdays
I wonder if I would recognized your face
Would it be nothing but glare?
Or a rewind I would decipher?

If sound stops rippling, and ears hears nothing
I wonder if I would again hear your voice
Would we be hearing those lips?
Or we will give up and grow unheard?

And if love recedes from our hearts and feel nothing
Started over, shone back, and unheard
Would we be feeling the same thing?
Or undoubtedly, emotions would be unborn?

No. Thank God it wouldn’t be
Because our love was like a spring
Destroyed, repeated, or discarded
It would just insist on growing back
Because it is our fate to be together
Destined no matter what…

The Kite

Yesterday, I had this kite that my father made.
It was big, rigid, and the leaf was thick
It could surely hold the strong drag of wind.
I was excited to let it fly away
Wishing the wind would never stop blowing.

My father gave me the signal before the moment came
that it flew several feet above…
Then higher and higher.
I was about to ask my father if I could consume
the whole thread he had given me.
But because of my excitement, I hadn’t asked
And did it in my own will.

I let the huge air lift my kite
I let it soared to eternity until the thread ran out.
I wanted it to fly and be seen by the airplanes above;
I wanted it to level with the clouds.

Gradually, the thread became too tight beyond my strength.
But I remembered my father said,
"This thread is the strongest of its kind."
Then my worries were eventually blown away.
Now, it's upon my hands.
