Baby's Crawl

Maggie Cambri was depressed from the previous events inside her home. There she was, sitting in a rocking chair like an old woman in her 90’s. She was staring blankly through the thin air with grim images running over the other, her head chilled by the emptiness inside her soul making her growling stomach a bitter-sweet melody reminding her of being alive.

She just signed the divorce paper so her husband could go to that gorgeous receptionist downstairs who walked with her breasts and talks with her legs, her son was in jail for smoking weed, and her baby, mere 5 months, just pooped on the carpet. What could it do? It was still a baby. But there was something dark lurking on Maggie’s mind as she looked down on the soiled carpet. It was the color of the ground when her mother was buried for good. She was young, so young to notice that his father was rejoicing her death, just like her husband with the blonde if she and her baby died, with their son rotting in prison. Upon thinking of such morbidity, she was convinced to take actions of such images she kept seeing in her head. She stood up and dragged the baby from the carpet and threw it out of the window. From tht night on, she never heard it cry.

Emily

The world was swelling, and my Nana's plants were defeated to stand against the relentless wind and rain outside that seemed to go on forever. The nights stayed starless of course, and the moon had never been in my line of sight. You couldn't blame me if I was thinking that it would be the end of the world. Just like what I have read from the newspaper, I was wondering of who would be the second Noah when the second great flood engulfed the world. I was an inch from expecting our roof to fly with us into the depths of the abysmal sky while father rain and mother wind battered the earth of sinners. Here, waiting for the sign that was making me anxious, pained, and my short to wet with urine. If Nana came by this room, it would be too late for Him to do it. It must be done sooner.
Two swelling hours passed. I slid the nearby window aside. Indifferent of the rain, I looked above the wet heaven and lend my hand above the sky. When the heaven had my hands, He would do whatever He wanted.
I waited like a mannequin, staring down the pathetic mud flowing thick. Then I jumped when a huge wheeler passed down by. It took me without warning. A continous deafening sound filled the air. A throbbing, grating noise took over my arms that I was not even sure if it was still part of my body. I check on my hands. The skin was wrecked, exposing ivory-white bones stained by blood. Jarred flesh droop like red lasso. Evetually, I felt Him taking over my face. I was no longer feeling any pain. I found the relief that death was craddling me with care.

Hallmark

“Maybe sometime?” the woman joked.
“And the baby?” the man beside her pointed to her rounded stomach.
She glared at him. “I’m kidding.”
The man smiled. “Come here.”
The woman walked nearer and closed the distance between them with a sigh. The man welcomed his wife with his huge arms. It wrapped around her as if she was about to live him, and never would be back.
“I know you’re kidding,” the man whispered on her right ear.
For seconds, there was nothing but silence- The two of them against the green background of love and beauty, insurmountable by any hallmark image.
The man pulled the woman tighter, he was almost weeping.
“Dad,” the woman uttered, “I…I can’t breathe.”
But the man gripped her body tighter. He held her head down so her face would be fully covered by his chest.
“Dad…” Her voice was already muffled inside him. But he couldn’t hear.
He pulled her tighter. He felt her feet kicking on the gravel under them, targeting for his invisible knees. But he only managed to dodged it away, like he was dancing.
The woman tried hard to pull him away but his arms were bigger and stronger. There was a suppressed abruptness. Seconds later, there was no movement. The woman was dead.
“If I wouldn’t have you forever, no one would,” he said, staring down into his wife’s wet eyes.

Pool of Black

Elie was with her boyfriend
Near the place of Grandpa’s house;
Minutes after they made love
She was feeling so awkward.

Why the moon was so red?
She noticed it was too low;
To see it kissed the horizon
Of nothing but silhouettes,
And blades of grass that were tall.
