Industrial Revolution in the late 19th century greeted Europe first, then the whole world with a boom. It started with coal driven trains, steam engines, Ford's cars and other machineries that started to belch a devastating promise. Of course, we couldn't blame its creators then. They weren't even aware about the mechanics of the atmosphere nor if it existed. But not now, when we are advanced enough to fix things back.
Global warming is a clear manifestation of our ignorance. Victims can be found everywhere with their shelters ruined, wrecked sea ships that compromised thousands of lives, lost of livelihood due to unpredictable weather, and wasted effort trying to prevent global warming's secondary effects from happening again.
It is time to do the real fixing. However, the tough game of conscience and pragmatism keep us indecisive. There is the conscience that tells us to step back, learn to stop things right there and then. There is the pragmatism that keeps us with the virtue of practical ideas, wondering if it’s worth eliminating plastic and oil usage in exchange for something that could have already been irrevocable.
We are given the ability to think. It is the tricky part, though. We could arbitrarily react either for a reason or on self-interest. We choose to land a business to earn a living rather than bothering ourselves thinking and spending for eco-friendly products. We choose to write on clean, white paper rather than spending money on cheap brown recycled paper. I mean, yes, why wouldn't we? They are nice, clean and easy.
However, it will all go back-- to our advantage or disadvantage. And surely, it wouldn't require intelligence to comprehend for something yet to come. We've enjoyed resources, squandered with joy and glee, and God knows what comes next. It wouldn’t be more trees to give us food nor more oil to fill our tanks. It would be their absence. We will be left with suffering and regret. That's the time when we'll finally see what we have overdone.
Unti then, I am hopeful that we are still lucky to repent and do thing the other way. We need real effort and sufficient urge so our feet would scramble towards a real, long-time solution to appease Mother Nature. Otherwise, sometime in the future, bare metals would fail to support a living.

Where Should Sex Education Be Taught?
At home, we are taught the essence of life and its implications. At school, we are taught with human knowledge with its unbiased deliverance. With these two options, where should sex education be taught?
If someone is asked about sex, we wouldn’t want to hear laughter or misinterpretation. Instead, we want to hear individuals speaking out its social functions, dangers and implications. Teaching sex education, especially among the younger ones, would be crucial about their lifetime view of sex. Necessarily, everyone must be informed. But by whom and where?
Choosing between home and school has been a chronic issue of where it should be taught. Of course, it wouldn’t be a chronic issue if there is a clear solution. But what should we really consider if we are taking a side? Will it be the instructor's balance insight about the issue, or the unconditional concern of the parents?
If we are taking school as the venue of teaching sex education, we should choose someone who is well equipped by helpful information and techniques to stash away students from being ignorant , and thus from being aggressive. Everyone who is under formal education will be mandated to undergo sex education. No exceptions. Its study would be under check and under control by the institution.
If we are taking home as its venue, we would be comforted by the pure intention and guidance of the parents towards their children. The only obvious problem is the parents’ willingness to raise a subject as sensitive as this. This might affect the sufficiency of the information that they are due to receive and enough to keep them properly informed.
At the end, maybe it doesn’t really necessary to pick a side. These two social institutions would be a lot effective if they work together, driven by the mutual goal of keeping the youth on the right track and away from the dangers of misinformation.

Should We Eradicate Jejemons?
Should we eradicate jejemons? To answer, there should be a reasonable ground in doing so. Do we have the rights to? Does it cover our concern?
The first one to go against their existence is our Department of Education, or DepEd, with the parents who are concerned with their children's development. Jejemons arise as a result of teenagers, or at least the ones who think like them, who are continuously finding for an outlet for their creativity. Unfortunately, it goes with consequences. First, it degrades their lingual ability to construct sound sentences due to their creative language. Second is the indispensable consequence of misunderstanding even between themselves who are both using "Jejenese." The informality of the language compromises its flexibility and usability with any kind of conversation aside from texting. It doesn't have any rules on construction, thus the only way of learning it is by conversing with the members of the jejemon subculture.
How about freedom? Do we not have the right to do or speak the way we please? Of course, we have. As long as we don’t affect people's lives and do things at their expense. We should know ourselves and limitations of where and when it could be used. We have the freedom to be Jejemons unless it becomes an obstacle against our own development. In that case, we should think better of it and stick to "real" human languages instead.
Jejemons make life a bit colorful. They have found it to be an escape from the harsh and mundane world we live every day. Amidst the news of street rally, political warfare and wanton killing, Jejemons and the issues they tug behind them serve as our break and sometimes as a laughing matter that makes us relax from the day's works. In reality, we shouldn’t worry about them for long. They wouldn't last forever. It is like we are under a phase and soon it would pass just like the pop cultures of the past decades. We could just cherish them for they wouldn't be made without reason. We need balance and Jejemons seem to serve it well.

God's Intervention in People's Lives
It wouldn't be reasonable to measure God’s role in everyone's life. In the first place, He is all responsible for the things we see every day, with all the things that there are, and there will be. Upon His creation, He started the path that we are made to traverse; that is to follow His righteous lead and live a righteous life.
God and His existence aren’t questionable; only we wish we are intelligent enough to have a glimpse of His truth and wisdom. However, as human being, the best thing we could do is to follow after His inspiration and be glad that someone does really care for us.
With the daily dealings that confront is with trials and challenges, and afterwards the reward of wisdom, we couldn’t deny how we have grown around His ways; how He is credible with our mere existence and how our ways end. With the bad news that reach out TV screens before, during and after each time, its wonder why we are still held away from general destruction. It is as if a hand, wounded may it be, doesn’t lose hope and keep us from falling apart. Doesn’t it feel good to know that we are guided in spite all the sins and misdeeds that we have committed? And to be aware that every day we are given with a new chance to retract and do things the right way?
Yes. God is everything. He is what we breathe, what we eat, what we touch. His intervention couldn’t be surmounted by any reason nor logic- for His essence is our's and His thoughts are we.
